In Ghana a woman's full kente outfit is a kaba (top) and slit (skirt) plus a cover cloth worn over it – exactly what a 3-piece set gives. The pieces can also be sewn together as a men's kente cloth worn toga-style over the shoulder, or cut into couple outfits, agbada, shirts and stoles. Kente is worn across Ghana, Togo (Ewe kente), Côte d'Ivoire (pagne tissé / kita), Benin and Nigeria for traditional marriage and engagement (knocking) ceremonies, naming ceremonies, festivals, church, Independence Day and graduations.
