Akwete cloth wholesale
Akwete cloth is the woven wrapper of the Igbo people of south-east Nigeria, named after the weaving town of Akwete in Abia State. It is worn as a double wrapper for igba nkwu (traditional wedding), chieftaincy and title ceremonies, burials, church thanksgiving and cultural days, and is also popular in Ghana, Togo and Benin as a kente-style wrapper.
Our Akwete cloth comes as a matching 2-piece set: each piece is 45 x 85 inches with fringed ends. One piece is tied as the wrapper and the second as a top wrapper, stole, headwrap or matching blouse.

Is this handwoven Akwete?
No. It is machine woven in India in Akwete and kente styles, which keeps the price low for wholesale and keeps every piece the same size.
Can I mix designs in a bale?
The MOQ is 50 sets per design. Ask us about mixed bales for first orders.
How is it shipped to Nigeria?
By sea from Mumbai to Lagos, or by air. We quote FOB Mumbai or CIF Lagos.
